So I have a built b16 turbo. I just installed a brand new garrett .60ar turbo. The turbo won't hit full boost until 5500 rpm. I thought that seemed high and started thinking how to spool faster. I am using 2.5 inch intercooler piping hot side and 3 inch cold side. I also am running a tial wastegate and thought that the diaphram might be ripped or something. Idk would like a few opinions.

 

Check for Vaccum Leaks. Also, how many pounds are you running, and when does it start to boost?

 

it does seem a little hgih to hit high boost but its only a 1.6 ... so yeah. who knows- is your turbo ball bearing or journal bearings?

 

Seems about right... 3" cold and 2.5" hot side piping is too big unless you plan on making 600+whp.

I checked for leaks already. I am having new 2.5 inch piping made on hot and cold side. It will also be one piece so I will only need 1 coupler on turbo, 2 on intercooler, and 1 on tb. I am now running 9psi but will soon be boosting up to 14.7 as soon as I get a tune scheduled.
