Default New EG hatch... a few problems.

This is my first post on the site and i have to start out with a HUGE thanks! this website is such a wealth of knowledge it is just incredible. however i haven't been able to find a solution to my particular problem.

I just bought a 1993 CX hatch with a B16a2 swap and a gsr tranny. for some reason Vtec kicks in at 4500 rpm at WOT and it sounds like the engine is being cut off at 5500 rpm (it kicks and sputters and sounds like its hiting redline) the car has a virgin p28 ecu off of a del sol and the engine is out of a 2000 honda civic si (but im sure you know that already) on another note my CEL is on and reads a code 41, i replaced the o2 sensor with a bosch and it did not fix the code and i read on here that a bosch isnt a hondas favorite so i bought a Denso. i also just bought a stock p30 ecu and i am going to try and install the o2 sensor with the new ecu. my question is... will this fix it? are these problems linked somehow? and i am getting low 30's is that normal mpg's?
Sorry for the rambling long-winded post just trying to put it all out there.

the knock sensor is on the back of the motor right below the intake manifold. You should be able to see it, Its probably one of the only clips on that side of the motor.

hmmmm

took two seconds. Its on the back of the block. If you are running a P28 that is virgin it will search for the knick and not crack V. Look at the faqs on how to search. This has been covered....

quit posting bad info obd1 P28 will NOT look for knock, also in my expierence even if you have code 23 for the knock sensor, vtec will still engage(at least with a JDM obd1 P30)

make sure your coolant temp sensor is working properly, i dont know if it will be any help, but if my gsr swapped hatch gets hot at all the computer will shut off fuel at 5500 rpms, and it only happens when it starts to get warm, i believe my problem is my single core radiator and slim fan though, i have a dual core on the way to hopefully that will stop my overheating

skuded, thats a good thought but it will do it at basically any temp. as soon as it hits op temp and i get on vtec it does it. i think if it was an op temp problem it wouldnt do it all the time.. right?
sleepercivic, since i have a p28 currently and it doesnt look for knock will the new p30 look for it? and should i just assume that it is wired correctly?

I doubt its wired, P30 will look for Knock sensor, you could just get your P28 chipped and have a B16 base map put on it,

hey egsleeper, i just read your sig, and i have a black glove box for an eg. its just the glovebox w/out any parts (hinges, stoppers, frame.) but it does have the black handle. if you want i could just give it to you if you could handle shipping.
as far as the car goes, i think it is wired for a knock sensor because it goes into the loom.

you got PM, as for the knock sensor, the wire for the knock should go to D3 on the ecu , here is a link for the pin outs http://www.ff-squad.com/technet/wiring.obd1.htm
