Default Poormans Type R

Hey fellow h-t members! Just got a quick question (sorry if it's a stupid question). But I was wondering if you can just run a stock b16a2 head on a stock gsr block. Reason for asking is because I read about a lot of others going with a poormans r setup and they mention have itr pistons and cams. Would I really need those or the pistons and cams are just for more performance? Basically will I be able to run a stock head on a stock block.

There's a reason a GSR block with ITR pistons in it is called a poor mans ITR. Installing a b16a head on a GSR block is not a poor mans type R, it is a poor mans GSR since it'll perform worse than a stock GSR.
