I need some info on my JDM h22
so i just recently purchased a JDM h22. it is being installed into a 1999 honda prelude. now the engine they sent me has the wiring harness coming out the front of the engine, and while the harness on my old engine a (h22a4) comes out the back of the motor. is this because the engine they sent me was for a diffrent year of prelude as mine....am i screwed. what can i do...also i have a Coil ignition and this one is not. what do i do???? please help. if need to email me at Wickedpaintballer@hotmail.com
Just re-used your old distributor and your old engine harness, so that the distributor can be plugged into your old harness.
My buddy has an SH model, and he swapped in a JDM H23A VTEC with no problem. The only problem he has is VTEC works intermittently.
Hope this help.

It depends. Mine('96 JDM H22A) came with it being on the driverside, and I've seen quite a few of them being on the driverside as well, so I didn't have to install my USDM fuel rail that I bought for the swap.

You going to need to do a external to internal coil conversion the coil you would replace it with comes out of a 99 civic si. I have a full H22a swap guide you could have. But I would have to email it to you it would answer every question you have.
Re-use your old engine harness. The other one is for a RHD. Use an internal coil distributor and re-wire crank position to the distributor. If not, re-use your old oil pump, then everything should plug up
BUT WHAT IF MY OLD WIRING HARNESS WONT REACH BECAUSE ALL THE PLUG INS ARE IN THE FRONT INSTEAD OF THE BACK. IVE GOT LIKE A 2 FOOT GAP INBETWEEN MY OLD WIRING HARNESS AND THE PLUGS ON THE FRONT OF THE MOTOR

Dude seriously, an H22 is an H22, all that matters is if the harness is LHD or RHD. Your old harness will work perfectly, remove the RHD one from the engine, your getting yourself confused over something so simple.
haha sorry for the caps wasent trying to yell it out or anything lol....but yeah i know, but it just threw me for a loop. i still have like a 2 foot gap of missing wiring. my old harness in my car wont reach the plugs for the motor.
Thats why you cut and extend the wires to reach the sensors; otherwise, you won't have them hook up. Or just cut the wire loom open to get more slack out of the wires to reach the sensors and wrap it back up with black electrical tape.
????? 2 foot gap, that's impossible. Are you using an H22? Like minilo said, an H22 is an H22, the only difference is RHD or LHD
