Icon3 degreeing cams? HELP

Whats up guys? Im almost done building my motor after a long few months waiting for funds. Anyways Im about to drop in my blox stg 2 cams in my gsr. I want to degree them so everything is set how it should be when I go to the dyno. I have the kit to do it from summit racing. My question is are there any tricks to making it easy or tips to make sure it will go smoothly? I know i have to degree the vtec lobes so i need to manually lock in vtec. I heard of people putting a ball bearing in the rocker with the pin to lock it in. Is this the best way to do this? If so how do i go about doing so? do i have to put the ball bearing in when i install the rockers and shafts then degree the cams then pull it all apart then reassemble everything without the bearing? or can i just pop it in with them assembled already? This was my first honda motor build and ive done ok so far, any help to finish up would be greatly appreciated.

I too want to know about this. I can't seem to get an image of where that VTEC hole is located so I can put in the BB gun pellet in.

the BB is use only when u want to check the V2V or P2V clearances, i dont think u use them when degreeing the cams.

yeah, i agree. you wouldn't be making any further adjustments for the VTEC lobe after you already have it set up for the standard lobes. all you're worried about with the VTEC lobe is P2V and V2V contact like vteczone said.

I can see where you guys are comming from but I still have heard different oppinions from different guys. Some say that you only degree the vtec lobe some say only the low speed lobe. The motor is going to be tuned on a dyno but I want to have the centerlines adjusted by degreeing them because my head has been decked slightly and I use a 2 layer head gasket. i dont want anything bad to happen when I start it for the first time.

I also noticed my blox tuner stg 2 cams show specs but im not sure if they are for the vtec lobe or low speed lobe so if anyone knows that would really help me out. Ive got a summit racing degree kit to use so I guess I'll share my exp with it after I use it.
