Hey guys, ive been searching around and trying to find why my transmission is whining in first and second gear(when i shift down using the engine to brake) and when i shift into one there is a little whining noise as its catching and then when i gas it. Could it bear a loose bearing or the torque convo?? Grr, its so annoying. lol.

 

if its a 5 speed manual trans, you dont have a torque converter. if it whines when you push the clutch in, its the throwout bearing in the clutch. if it whines only in gear, might be synchros..
