Default O2 sensor Question

my secondary o2 sensor is bad. Now i have a brand new primary and was just wondering since they look alike and only difference i see is the length of the wires.

Can i just extend the wires? Will this work?

No, your primary does the initial readings, the secondary make sure the cat. converter is working properly, the plugs are also different, one is female, the other is male. There is also about a $100 price difference

the term universal o2 sensor is kind of misleading. It doesn't mean that it universal for all sensors. There's about 15 universal sensors that match the sensors purpose and type and you just cut off the plug on your current sensor and add it on to the universal. But just make sure the universal sensor is for your car specifically. And there are cars out there that have a specialized sensor and no universal available.
