Default Tach jumping and some sputtering

I have the JDM Type R (98+) in my Civic, and it's not running so well.

Occasionally (not consistently reproduceable but happening frequent enough) the engine seems to cut ignition for a split second and then recover. Sometimes it's one cut, sometimes several in a row. This primarily occurs when accelerating but does happen when cruising down the highway.

When this occurs, the tach jumps all over the place. I've also noticed the tach jumping around (+/- 1k) without the igntion cutting out. Plugs are pretty new, the rest isn't. What's going on?

Sounds like a bad ignitor in the distributor.

The engine is a type r, and since my post is directly about the engine, it's in the correct section

No, it isn't. It should be in Hybrid forum.

Issue is in the camshaft positioning sensor, The dizzy is failing. Happened with my buddy 01 ITR. Replace the dizzy and you should be fine.

To the other guys it is a swapped engine but it is a ITR Engine with a factory dizzy. You guys need to chill out. Theirs a reason why me or non of my other friends post in here anymore. You give ITR Owners a bad name. Just my 02. cents
