probably made by the same company and then each of those companies sells them as their own.

I'm currently running the YCP's in my stock bore B20.

The only advantage that RS Machines pistons have is their size availability. You can get them in .5mm increments, whereas the YCP's only come in 84/85mm.

That being said, I'm not sure on the RS Machine material, but the YCP's are made from AC8A aluminum alloy, the same as the YCP Vitaras. They are supposed to be stronger than OEM cast, but it's impossible to know without accurate testing.

I have put 1500 miles on the pistons, and no problems thus far. They are an excellent piston for the price. If you are stock bore, and your cylinders are not out of round (within spec), go for it.

i really don't think it matters what you run, more of a what you think is better

one isnt going to make any more power then the other one IMO

Not everyone has $500 to spend on pistons.

Cast are perfectly fine for a street motor. Most setups people are doing don't even need forged pistons.

People act like this is a HIGH HORSEPOWER all motor build, but it is not. All I am looking for is a good reliable aftermarket piston to daily drive on and have some fun every once in a while.

If you can wait for FJT, hold out. You can save $100 over the RS Machines.

I was in your same position a few months ago. I had ordered them through FJT, but he informed me that they were on backorder.

A week later I got lucky and found a seller with a brand new 84mm YCP set on Ebay. Always helps to check that site frequently.

I have found YCP's on eBay for 249.99 plus shipping. The RS's were 300.00 plus shipping.

Hehe.. the specific design allows for great combustion, less chances of knock and best of all, its forged..

But ok, if your going to spend 300 on a set of pistons, whats another 200 for a great set??

I dont ride the endyn bandwagon by any means, i think their **** is WAY overpriced..however one thing i like of theirs is their pistons.

are they high or low silicon pistons? i'm going to guess low silicon which means they will expand alot and on start up and which means loose pistons to wall clearance, but with cast you don't have to worry about this sort of thing

its been said time and time again that for a DD build cast beats forged every day of the week, plus you can use stock rods

Private seller on Ebay. They're only $220 from FJT though, and I doubt shipping is more than $15 since he's based in TX.

I emailed them 6am this morning and still have not got a reply. I really need to take the block to the machine shop first to determine what piston I need.

He's a small operation, so give him time.

First step would be checking the roundness of your cylinders with a dial bore gauge, if you have one.

If not, then yeah, take it to the machine shop.

Call FJ, it might take 10 rings but he will answer and he can tell you whatever you need to know about backorder length.

I've been daily driving a 13.0CR built b20vtec for the last 10 months..

I got these pistons for a reason, but i was just saying..might as well go with a piston that is designed to last and standup against knock and what not..
