Default 1999 Integra GSR Brakes onto 1993 Civic EX Coupe I HAVE QUESTIONS!!! HELP PLEASE!

Ok, so i'm looking for some people who have done the swap successfully. I recently bought a totaled 1999 Acura Integra GSR Shell, it has 4-wheel disc brakes (obviously) with ABS. I have a 1993 Honda Civic EX Coupe WITHOUT ABS.

I am interested in trying to swap the entire brake setup but i've got a few things i need cleared up as to what i NEED to swap over in order to do this successfully and correctly.

Now here are the questions:

1. Will the ABS Proportioning Valve work on my civic without ABS? or do I need to obtain a proportioning valve off of a NON ABS Disc Brake car?

2. Do i need to swap out the Front spindles, Upper Control Arms, and Hubs in order to get the rotors and calipers to fit and work correctly?

3. If I need to use the integra spindles, Are the Hubs interchangable from the Civic and Integra? ( I ask because i've got extended wheel studs on my civic that i need to keep)

4. I need to swap out the Brake Booster and Mater Cylinder from the Integra to Civic Correct?

5. Are there any Tips/Tricks I should know before taking on the project?

I have searched, and read the FAQ's however they are all older and have no pictures, I couldnt find anything that answered my questions directly (except #4 i'm just double checking with that one) So anyone who KNOWS the answers to any of these questions it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

No it will not, you need a 4040 prop valve from a '94 - '97 non ABS integra (you can also use '90 - '93 Integra prop valve but you will need to reuse the civic bracket)

The EX knuckles should work with Integra brakes, if it was a CX/DX/VX/non ABS LX/or '92 - '93 Si you would have to swap the knuckles

ABS master cylinders require bending and reflaring brake lines, use a '94 - '97 Integra non ABS master cylinder if you can, in your case the stock EX 7/8 master cylinder should be adequate as well

Rear suspension bolts like to seize.

ok well thank you for the reply..

Where would you suggest getting hte prop valve?

Bending the brake lines isnt really a problem for me, What do i have to reflare? and Why does it need reflaring? are the screw in brake nuts a different size/thread pitch?

Would you recommend heating them or just soaking the crap out of them with some pb blaster?

Junkyard would be your best bet.

One of the lines at the master cylinder uses a larger fitting on ABS models.

Soak them with some PB blaster first, then heat them, heat the nut on the end, don't heat the bolt itself. Use an impact wrench, using a breaker bar will normally just snap them off inside the bushing.

thanks for all the replys... so i take it nobody KNOWS if i need to use the spindles off of the integra? or if i can keep the ones from my civic?

The fittings on the master cylinder appear to be the same by eye but i'll take your word for it, i assume i have to double flare the line correct?

wont heating the bolt mess up the bushing?

The only reason i'm asking about the spindles is because my hubs on my civic literally have Brand new extended wheel studs in them. Are the hubs interchangable on the spindles does anyone know?

Again, i'm 99.9% sure Integra calipers bolt up EX knuckles using the Integra caliper bracket. Try it and see.

Correct.

If you get them hot enough to start burning the rubber yes.

The Integra calipers will bolt right up to your EX knuckles. Period.
