Can someone explain how coilover sleeves work
I can't lower my car and I'm running Tokico Illumina struts, coilover sleeves have been recommended as well as sway bars for reducing roll. I get how sway bars work just need an explaination on the sleeves. Pics would be great thanks.
How they work is preety simple.
You will have a sleeve with threads on it, this will slide over the shock.
On the sleeve there is typicly 2 Collars/adjusters, the thread up and down on the sleeve.
On top of that you place the spring, and the rest of the stuff for shocks.
To rasie the ride height you thread the collars up and to lower you lower them.
Very simple.

If the coil spring is over the shock (such as every single Honda made in the past 20 years), then it is a coilover. So, the answer is "of course", the "standard shock" was already part of a coilover.
If you're asking about threaded sleeves, the answer depends on brand/model.
yes.
i highly recommend you get ground control sleeves that are "standard shock" model, as opposed to "koni specific". they are made for honda shocks and will fit nicely.
and i really dont recommend junk2 or ebay sleeves. they are made for EVERY kind of car out there, generic, and pieces of ****. with equally shitty springs. they dont have the features and design the ground controls do.

Coilover kits will work on an OEM shock if the body is not over 2". I think the inner diameter of the sleeves is around 2.05-2.1". You also need to be careful how far you lower it because you don't want to lose too much bump travel.
