Default WTB: Reliable Daily Driver

Purchased. Ignore the thread

Well this is a bit of a unique situation so let me explain. I am currently in Chicago, IL but Im from the San Fernando Valley (818). My family is still in the valley and my parents are buying my sister her first car and asked me to help them search for one so for this reason pictures sent to me will be very important. They are budgeting themselves to $3,000. Here is what they hope to find
  • Manufacturer doesnt matter as long as it's reliable and decent on gas.
  • Working A/C is a must. Power steering and power windows are preferred
  • Auto trans, although manual isnt cancelled out
  • Able to pass smog legitimately without any tricks or issues
  • As close to stock as possible. Nothing abused
  • Nothing that leaks or burns a quart of oil every 1,000 miles

This isnt a car to fix up but rather one to buy and start driving right away. It's for my sister and she can care less about modding a car just as long as it gets from point A to point B without any worry. Were not limiting ourselves to Hondas, its just what i know best.

Obviously if normal maintenance is needed then thats understandable (oil changes and things similar to this) but my parents wont want something that will need new axles, or tie rods, a new headgasket, etc.

They are trying to stay within the valley and surrounding areas.

They are not looking for an instant purchase since they want to make sure they choose the right car but they definitely 100% do want to get her a car as soon as they can.

Please send me the information either in this post or via PM. Ive already start lurking other threads to see what it is available.

Thanks

I think a toyota, honda or nissan is a good car to start with.
Ford focus also came out pretty good and are also cheap.
How old is the sisiter btw? Does she have experience driving?
