i almost got 300k on my honda its a 2.2fl if i put a turbo on will it mess up the engine or worse blow it up or should i go out and get a new engine before i go that far if so what do you reccomend

 

please make sure you swallow when you blow your engine........

Just rebuild the one you have and then turbo it

 

i want a engine with more horse power do you know if a f22b is compatible with my motor mounts

 

I say boost it and see what happens lol... Maybe it will last if u take it easy...

you may be fine for a 5min or for 5 years. hard to tell. boost it and when it blows up go to the junk yard pick up another one and put it in until it blows up. or buy one from a junk yard, build it and then boost that.

 

give it a compression test and a cylinder leak test to see what condition the engine is in. if the tests are within specs then boost it. if not go to a yard and pick up a cheap longblock. voila!!

 

have puchased excellent condtion f22b2 for as low as $80 in the past!

I say boost it ! Expect the worst and hope for the best

That sounds like a HORRIBLE thing to do to an engine that has made it that far in its life...

However, that is merely my opinion.

If you really want to turbo, find yourself another engine or rebuild that one, as has been suggested already.

With forced induction: Build it right, build it once. Build it wrong, build it twice (or more if you just have money to blow).

 

Haha well with 300k on it, at least when it does blow up, you can say it lived a long happy life. Kinda like grandma when she finally kicks the bucket at 120.

it's all about tuning. if you tune it right (with a hondata, dyno, and tuner) and run super low boost, you might be ok for a while. it would probably be best to do this when you're ready to buy another motor or when you have a spare lying around because yeah, it'll blow eventually

then again, it would blow either way, the turbo is just accelerating the rate of wear. boost on if you got the funds!!!
