What causes repetitive distributor blow outs?
I can't tell you what "caused" this but I can tell you that I have had bad experiences with part store distributors.
I.E.
One day while driving my car, on a non OEM distributor, I had it fail. no problem I say I'll replace it. Within 2 hours of driving this second dist. it fails and leaves me on the side of the road.
I bought a third at a parts store, this time with a lifetime warranty
, and have only had to use this warranty once. Granted this has only been within the last 2 years.
Summary: 3 dist. in 2 years = rebuilds are not teh bets.

Oh. I was leaning more to a defective ECU or something, but OEM sounds better.
