Default clutch click??

hey all!

just joined the club...again. havent owned a honda in five years. last one was a 93 hatch with an ls. now ive moved up in the world and recently sold my mustang and bought a 2003 ep3 si and i love it! just a quick question tho. ive been reading around about clutch clicking and stuff and havent found anything. but if i put the clutch to the floor(car on or off) and release it, about half an inch from full release there is a click then a very faint click right after the first one. i can feel it in the pedal itself, but you can hear it very distinctly outside the car. my brother who is a ase mechanic said it was either the slave or master cylinder. just wanted to double check on here because im pretty sure im not tho only one who has had this problem.

thanks for all the help in advance and it feels great to be back in the family!

there is honestly no one that can help??

new question then:

what is the thing mounted near the firewall all the way behind the driver front tire(looking from the front of the car)? isnt that the clutch master cylinder?? all i can see is a plate looking thing with the bolts in it. me and my brother think its the master cylinder but we cant figure out if it is or not. cuz thats where the noise is coming from

the thing mounted near the firewall is the master. i am betting its the master. the ep3 master is identical to rsx and the master sucks. get a 01-05 civic ex master its the same as ours except doesnt have the weak triangle plate. or get the omni cmc

Yup it is pertty much located lower drivers side firewall looking from front of vehicle. Sorta looks like a rounded triangle with a bolt on each corner an the clutch line screws into the top.

looks like i got a project for the weekend then. hopefully it isnt to hard to take out.

and it doesnt affect driveability at all. it just clicks when the rod or piston whatever you want to call it fully releases inside the master cylinder and before it comes to a full rest it clicks. dont ask why. haha. just my assumption. the only way it affects driveability is the fact it makes me want to drive it less and less. sadly
