Don't flame me for this but what exactly does a strut bar do for your car??

 

a strut bar "in theory" stablizes the springs so they dont retract so it is like a stablizer for your suspension....it helps on turns at high speeds...

 

they really wont do much unless you have a fully built suspension. its much more worth it to get lower sway bars

 

Every little bit helps man. I noticed my upper strut bar when I first put it on. It helped to reduce body roll, but I agree that sway bars are better. But, why not have both?

 

Just remember with sway bars you have to adjust them to fit your lowered car.

 

i agree. it helps. i have a oem gsr one in my civic, one that doesnt attach to the springs. just the body. its nice to look at.

 

They keep the body of your car from flexing when you go around corners. Basically................They also help improve the stability of the car and the way it reacts when you are driving.

Also the more rigid your chasis the better job and more complete the suspension
can work to balance the vehicle. Think about how hard it is to ride a motorcycle
with a enw person ridinig on the back. The suspension is all messed up.The strut bars work this way. they also prevent the upper body bolt locations from
possibly tearing out the sheet metal. I have seen a car do this when it ran off the
road. What a sight.

 

A good route for a daily driven street car with the goal of crisp handling without a harsh ride should/could/would Include: Sport~mild race spring that provides good lowering with a progressive firmness for tight turns without being so stiff that the car is harsh on bumpy roads. Shocks are Nicey Nice! A good basic combo: H&R sports w/ bilsteins! Gsr 24mm front sway w/ a Integra 22mm rear sway (need beaks kit) Will help a ton! Lower tie bars are good for turn in... so I have heard. I have the Gsr Oem front lower tie bar that mounts to the subframe(a good cheap mod from a junkyard) I plan to add skunk2 front and rear lower tie bars that mount to the subframe. . I have Skunk2 upper strut bars. They do reduce chassis flex and therefore contribute to the overall effectiveness of the other suspension components in fast turns! But the bomb is a good Roll Cage. kind of like its the The cherry on top of the sundae!!!! You can also get the bennen strong bar for the rear of your hatch in the tailgate portion to firm up the back. Wish you success.
