Stuck Lose Sparkplug
Yeah... I replaced plugs like a 2 months ago and now one came lose, and jammed into the side wall. I tightened them all the way, but w/e
How do I get it out? How can I remove that sleeve?

Spark plug unthreaded and the anode bent 90 degrees, cut into the sleeve wall and I cant get it out with anything

Tried removing the valve cover and get to the sleeve, cant get it out, dont know how

well, I can use air can to get lots of the debree out, there are only 2 large pieces left in there, most of it blew out with compressed air.
I can use a magnet to get some of the other things out. I dont have the finances to remove the head right now, as in new gasket and bolts and w/e else needs to be replaced.
How bad is it that a few peices of burned rubber or small metals gets into the combustion champer? doesnt it all blow out the exhaust after a few seconds of running?
and most importantly, how do you remove that sleeve?

if your loose spark plug was bad enough that it blew out like that, there's a good chance that the the ground electrode also fell off. i wouldn't doubt it if your cylinder wall got scored..
as for the sleeve, it's part of the head...i don't think you can remove it. i think you'll have to pull the head but there's a good chance your engine is already dead. might be more worthwhile to just buy a new engine since d17's are cheap.
btw, did you not use a torque wrench when you tightened your spark plugs? IMO, it's very important to tighten plugs to the correct torque rating. too loose and they'll blow out, too tight and the threads could get ruined.

can you borrow a bore scope from someone? then you can look in there. I thought the sleeves could be removed externally? as far as metal, if you get the plug out, find a piece of plastic hose like water line, rig it to the end of a shop vac hose, and stick it down in there to vacuum everything out. if the threads are screwed, there are a number of thread repair kits made now that don't require drilling. Summit carries them as well as Jegs

my previous plugs electrodes corroded and ended up stuck in my cat.
As long as the plugs are fine and I get the debris out I should be fine.

you can do a proper helicoil, if you keep a lot of grease on the tap it will keep the chips from falling in, everything else that falls in can be vaccumed out, the vaccume should remove the tiny pieces.
I'm 95% sure that the threads are alright.
When I was driving I heard a poping noise coming from the engine, I realized it was a loose sparkplug. I was only 1 mile from home, as I turned into my block the car started to missfire. I knew the spark plug came loose, I didnt expect the ignition coil to melt for the plug to jam in sideways.
So if the plug did unscrew and then just get stock from the presure like that, I'm fairly sure that the threads are alright.
The hard part will be getting the plug out, since its burried itself into the sleeve wall, I couldnt pry it out with a long screwdriver, I dont know how much better results I will have with a pair of pliers.
Does anyone know if the sleeev can be removed? That would make it all easier. I tried twisting it out with channel locks but it wouldnt budge.

Yes the sleeve can be removed but you will have to remove them the same way they installed them in the factory. Put the cylinder head in an oven and heat the whole head up evenly and slowly they should be able to come out then. There is not a way to get them out without some damage with the head on the vehicle still.
alright, I got the thing out. came out very easy, i guess I should have tried this when the engine cooled down.
I blew out a lot of small particles with compressed air before removing it and pretty much emptied an entire can ones I got the plug out to make sure nothing fell inside.
the threads on the plug look normal, I just need to buy a new spark plug and wait for my replacement coil to come in
