99-00 civic SHORT RAM
hey, a fariliy easy question. i've installed cold air and short ram intake on my 95 civic cpe, so i know how to do that specific car. I'm installing a friends 99-00 civic short ram. is it the exact same thing as far as like placement of pipes and resonator behind bumper? and i assume since its a short ram, i can just leave the reasonator in and not bother with the bumper removal? thanks
i just want to know cuz i wanna know about how much time to expect to install. if its exactly like 5th gen, then it should be only 20min. but prolly 1hr if i have to take off bumper and resonator. thanks
Well, I have never installed a short ram, but I don't know why would leave the resonator on. I would take it out, it is just dead weight. Taking off the bumper is easy as sin. Shouldn't take you more than 5 mins.
Short ram decreases horse power and raises engine temp.
Tell your friend that he is a dumbass, and it should only take about 10 minutes to install anyway...

EK resonator recirculates hot air, so it does not help.
I have a short ram (ARC) and I yanked out the resonator, replacing it with semi-rigid aluminum ducting.
You may lose a bit of power on scorching days, but I prefer the superior throttle response of my setup to the AEM (which feels like someone tied a boat anchor to the throttle).

Short rams don't do anything to the temps... Mine's wrapped and it still doesn't do a damn thing.. The install is a no brainer.. like 10 minutes if you don't know **** about cars..
but isnt the reasonator separated from everything else once u take the stock airbox and tubing off, as in my 5th gen? so it wouldnt hurt anything by leaving it in there correct?
please i have a iceman cai and short ram, not difference in gains or losses. JUST FOR SOUND
