Clutch Cable
I just put a new clutch net carbon kevlar clutch w/ a heavy duty PP in my hatch. My hatch has a B18A swap but here's the problem, the clutch cable isn't long enough?!? At least that's what it seems, I have all the adjustment out of the clutch, I had to cut the bushing at the end of the cable in half just to make it drivable. Has anyone had this problem? I thought to get a cable from a 90 teg but the damn thing is even shorter!!!!! Is there a longer cable from another car that I can swap in? This is so frustrating!!!!!
I had the same prob in my b16a powered 88 rex.
I also have a clutch net clutch and pp. I had to modify the bracket that bolts to the tranny, so that the cable sets lower.

You can always cut a few inchecs out of the sleeve (cable jacket). I had to do this when I did My B-series swap into My 90' SI CRX. Then wrap it with some electrical tape. It will save you from buying a teg cabel or moding you bracket. Let us know if you need more detailed info. HTH
I've done many b-series conversions to EF's and they all have this problem. Even my very own EF has this problem and I have a 90 Integra cable. I'm not sure of this but I think that either the brackets or the cables in Japan are different from ours. Now that I've seen this post I'm going to look in to it. My buddy has a 93 USDM GSR B17A...I'm going to compare brackets with his. If the brackets are the same then we have to buy 93 GSR cables I guess.
If anyone does this before I do...please post and lets us all know because I killed my clutch which was brand new in 6 months of racing my car.

You must be vey careful. I cut about 3 inches out. First measure it out and cot the outer black coating away. Then you will see the cables jacket. Its looks like a spiral. You are going to need a pair of dykes. Thoes are basicly wire cutters. Cut int the cables metal jacket only. After you cut into to break the spiral you are going to need to unwrap it. This is not easy but it can be done. Use pliars to grab the metal piece and unwrap it. After you have removed about inches cut it smoothe. Then you can tape it up so theres no play in there. Whala your done. I did this for the clutch and throttle cable when I installed my B16. It will save you from having to get teg cables.
I am going to do this tommorow, I got a clutch cable from a teg and it was actually shorter then the one I have now. I am unsure of what one I currently have on the car.
B18A in a 88 CRX here, stock cable. I've found that the easiest way to get the cable on, is to loosen the 2 bolts that hold that cable bracket on. This will allow you to get get some play in the bracket....works for me anyways. Or you can take the bracket off, seat the cable, and then try and muscle the bracket in to place and get the bolts in......
cables too short?? i just recently installed my exedy clutch on my lsvt setup and i've got the clutch cable almost completely tightened up to take up the slack! i'm using a 90 integra clutch cable btw.
