MY SYNCHROTECH EXPERIANCE
Ok let me start with I had the oppertunity to grab a 97 civic EJ8 w/ a JDM B16Sir1 on the side. I installed the swap and the LS transmission I had ended up grinding 3rd and while in 4th wouldn't let me downshift. It killed the driving experience. So I went on the hunt for a replacement B16 or ITR trans. I found one for a fair price. I spoke to the owner and he had paperwork and repair orders stating a full rebuild from just a year ago. The owner swore it was a perfect working shifting unit. Great, so I go waste a Saturday swapping them out just to have a nasty 3rd gear grind in the new unit. AWESOME, TRUST NO ONE, I was scum bagged. So I contacted Dave @ SYNCHROTECH TRANSMISSIONS. Long story short I sent him both transmissions, I got cash for the LS as a core unit and had a awesome experience. They called me back fast, telling me they received my trans's, they have girls there just to handle billing and shipping an take messages. They answer emails fast etc, invaluable when time is of the essence. The dude Dave got my broken B16 LSD trans on a Thursday morning, by 10AM I received a call telling me exactly what was wrong in detail. He told me all my options that were offered to get this done. I ended up having him do a master rebuild using all new bearings, seals, and I also had ta get a whole new final drive, a new 3rd gear set, all new CARBON synchros and sleeves, 1st through 4th. It was shipped back out that same day. Not to mention that these trannys they build are basically bullet proof, the place is professional & impressive. I couldn't have had a better experience. UPDATE: This was originally posted 6/2010. The trans is exactly the same now as it was then 4 years later, although it was only driven as a daily 2 of those years. Its now a road racing race car making 525hp. I recommend them to everyone.

I can't wait to get it back. I can't even imagine how great it's going to be especially since I had been driving on a destroyed trans for 6 weeks, lol. Dave told me that the shop in FL that rebuilt it the last time did not do a great job. One of the 3 10mm's in the shift mechanism wasn't tightened and backed out while the previous owner was driving with it ping ponging around ripping teeth off of the final drive causing great damage.

Synchrotech and M&H slicks are both superb businesses in our industry to deal with. We're very fortunate to have them around.
x2
Synchrotech transmissions are by far the best company i have ever delt with. My order was payed for, processed, shipped and recieved here in ireland within 4days.

Yea and when you get it back your getting a transmission that is unequivocally way stronger than a brand new one, with no miles. They eat shifts at 10k RPM all day. I think they even have a new synchro out now that instead of being just a brass one diped with carbon they have a total liner of material. It's sick. The best part is that in a world where everyone is looking to screw you, this place is honest. I truely believe that they would never try to sell you something you don't need. Dave actually gave me certain things for free because he felt bad that the SCABS @ FEDEX messed up the shipping. I had missed UPS and had no other shipping option, but I absolutely do not recomend sending your tranny using FedEx,unless you insure it to the gills, you might actually end up with a brand new one cause there is a chance they may loose it. lol 90 bucks though from NJ to Sandimas Ca. Not bad at all

I had my tranny for my ITR rebuilt with their parts from another shop( big mistake) and it began to have the same issues as when i needed it to rebuilt in the first place. So i had the shop i took it to originally, open it up and try to tell me what went wrong. Oh yeah i put about 250 miles on the rebuilt tranny.
So he says "you're getting on it too hard" and "it's not the oem tranny and you'll most likely keep having these problems"... Wrong answer.
I immediately took it over to Dave, as i should have in the first place and just from looking at the parts he knew immediately what went wrong. They screwed up putting it together just to sum it all up.
Also there was other parts that the other shop had missed that needed to be replaced. Unfortunately it had to cost me more money, but atleast i know this tranny will be better than it was from the factory.
I can now drive around without my fingers crossed.

Thanks to this thread I shipped off my B16S1 trans to get rebuilt and Quaife LSD to get installed. I hope my Synchrotech experience is on par with everyone elses.
Hey all, just a update since I'm the OP and it's 2 years later, since then the cars turbo making 500WHP and the trans is still perfect. Never a issue.
