What year transmission fit 01?
Hello.
New to your forum and the Honda world. I have found a 2001 Civic EX in good condition with 99K miles and a bad auto tranny. Can you tell me what compatible, proven, and best year auto's to put into this car? Will i need a torque converter as well? And third, the best source for a used auto.
thanks

Somebody help!!!.
2001 Civic EX. Replaced the tranny with used one, worked good for a few hours but suddenly heard a rattling sound from the relay and won't start again. Why would the relay turn on and of during ignition?
Edward.

ok u can have I/H/E and if u know how to drive a EM2 will run hard, I have beaten Scion TC, Integra LS, Corolla Type S.....so its all on how u drive
Longer gears = saves more gas.
Ever wonder why the LX/DX models have more MPG than our Ex's?
If you wanna go fast just spray. Automatic EM2's are not meant to be raced on.

civics already get good fuel economy...
if you really want the best fuel economy, go buy a manual civic. they're also one of the easiest stick shift cars to drive...

just want to clarify any, 01 - 05 tranny will do? Like from an 05 Si tranny? Reason being is that I have an 02 lx, and have already swapped tranny once for slipping in first/second, and I think that it's starting to slip again... (auto)
If you're sticking with auto trannies, get an 04-05 since they're more robust. SIs won't work since it has a K series engine. If you want to turbo get an LX tranny, n/a stick with EX.
Yeah, canadian it is... just need to decide if gonna pick up tranny for future swap or new rubbers for remainder of summer... tranny's only got 60,000 KM's for an 05 that's average
So i finally got the title for the car from the previous owner and am about to order a tranny. When i called to make the order for the 05 tranny with 44k miles he said i need to find out if the car is Japan built or U.S. built. The 05 tranny is for an EX and U.S. built, will it matter if my 01 EX is U.S. or Japan built? Also he said he can't give me a warranty since i'd use a different year than an 01 tranny, is this bull and is there a good argument to give a warranty (it will be professionally installed).

I think it should be the same because every other parts are changeable.
Every B16/17/18 series transmission will fit onto another B series, weather it's JDM/UKDM/USDM/etc..
Goes for the same for D/H/F/K also.
Imma say this from the top of my head so don't quote me if i'm wrong.
