I ran them for a year in my old car, they held up fine for me, they were just stiff as hell and found myself losing traction while cornering hard.

$25 wow. At least get some name brand springs. Why put your life in danger. These are probably unknown rate, whatever metal they felt like using, etc. Springs and shocks should be installed at the same time.

 

what is a name brand? and can i just buy the back ones and can i get a name brand that will adjust?

Man, 25 bucks. I'd be very very afraid.

Ground control / Koni combos are good if you want adjustable. There are also many acceptable cheap full coilovers that are decent... Omnipower, Ksport, Form and Function. I don't personally like them, but lots of people run them with good results.

There is really no way to do a QUALITY adjustable lowering job on a Civic for under $500. Yes, you can do it for $25, but it's going to suck.

If you just want it lowered on a budget, with an extremely good ride, adjustable damping, and better handling, the cheapest way to do it is with used OEM ITR springs, and Koni Yellows with the circlip on the lowest notch. That should drop you 2" and still ride like stock for around $400 or less.

Keep in mind you WILL want to save $100 for an alignment. ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS get an alignment after changing ride height, or you WILL be buying tires in a few weeks.

 

Avoid. Invest in some used aftermarket brands or save up and invest in something new thats reliable. I guaranteed these will fail within 6 months of daily driving.

 

there 25 dollars,,,, save your money and get a good setup if your wanting the sleeve style coilovers get ground controls or skunk 2's

or save you money and buy real coilovers

 

Junk.....why would you cheap out on your ride quality?

"You get what you pay for." As the saying goes. In this case that means $25 worth of junk materials shaped and molded to appear as tho some R&D was used in the design of these. But hey, if you can't trust a eBay seller with cool sound effects on his auctions, who can you trust?

 

they are ok. they arent great or good. stock is good but they are ok. there is your difference.

 

if there's one thing you shouldn't cheap out on its suspension parts when you're thinking of upgrading. Lowering the car on coilovers like these puts the springs under a lot of pressure depending on how low you go. If they're not of good quality, you'll shatter them in no time. I'm quite happy with my TEIN coilovers on my bmw, you might want to check out their honda ones. I bet they'll outlast your car, plus they have a lifetime warranty (the guys at Tein are great for that)

 

just to clarify im wanting to raise the back of the car up some so if there is a better way to do this please chime in

so are these brands mentioned above good for raising the car ?

You can buy aftermarket spacers for rear springs that can raise the back end up 1/2" to 2" usually. I'm not sure how safe it is to run with the spacers however, but theyre probably ok. You could also research whether another honda vehicle comes with taller springs and swap yours out for those.

The best you could do with that car is get a good brand name set of springs (ST, Tein, Eibach, ect) with a moderate drop of 1.5-1.8" drop.....you will have a great ride quality,and it will hande well

 

Thanks ..but I want to raise it back up to normal .....I just want the best idea as far as better to go oem or after
market springs ...witch will raise it back up and last longer and how much difference in premformance and quality of different brands.......thanks again for all the replys

I really don't care if they adjust I just want it to sit level ....it don't seem to bounce much ,..like if I go up over a hump you can feel the back kinda extend up then pull back down but if I have my kids in the back you fell it extend and then kinda bottom out or feel it kind hit at the bottom of the springs .....sorry that is the best I can explain it ....

 

my tein s techs were 120 shipped..havnt insalled them but should be good..lol
