Last time I used Food Lion brand distilled water, but it turned everything inside brown. It seems like the water had something in it, some mineral or something that didnt go over well with the engine. First time I have ever had that happen. It didnt run any different but it looked like super rusty water. Something else could have been the culprit, Im not sure.
are you telling me all the thousands of cars running test n tune dont run coolant??
i thought if you run just water and purple ice with no antifreeze, you are not suppose to use distilled water with aluminum radiators. distilled water is more corrosive than tap water or drinking water. basic chem teaches water is the universal solvent and water without minerals will dissolve minerals if put in contact with mineral.
however, it doesn't matter. just put what you would drink in your car and dont worry about it. would probably take years to see the corrosive effects of distilled water vs. tap water. i just wouldn't spend the money on special water.
i use well water from my tap and Purple Ice. works well for me.

gotta add something w/ the water to keep everything from corroding

Didnt matter either way. The water was only in there for a month or so until the engine let loose.
