hey is this axle bad? It pulled apart at the CV joint when I was trying to get it out of my transmission. I cut the boot off to see what was wrong and it looks like it came apart. I shoved it back together (pain in the as5 lining it all up) and reinstalled it in the car.

car ran fine, everything seems normal. but do i need a new axle? I'd rather be on the safe side.

Never seen that happen before, You said you want to be on the safe side, id replace it.

 

If it runs fine still get a new boot and throw a load of new grease in there, theres atleast a few hundred more miles left on that

 

Axle is fine if you drove it. However replace the boot and regrease it before you throw it back on.
