Default h22a4 question, timing

I remember reading somewhere that the h22a4 has some automatic timing or timing tensioner or something like that. but i can find it.
they said alot of people take the manual from and h23 and put it on because it's alot safer, especially if you have cams and springs. idk?
They said if it slips, it will jack up the timing a bend valves n stuff
Is this true?? did i just read some bs?

Also, how much will stage 1 cams do on an h22a4?

Default Re: h22a4 question, timing

the auto tensioners are fluid filled, if the seals on the tensioner where to leak/go bad, then the tensioner will lose pressure, causing the timing belt to become loose.
