Very hot and strong smell from rear passanger wheel
So I first noticed the smell while sitting at a stop light with the window down. Smelled like burning break pads. Then I noticed the intense heat radiating off my rear passanger side wheel.
The next day I greased the slide pins for the caliper and sprayed everything with brake cleaner. No crazy wear on the rotor or pads. And the park brake looks fine as well.
While in neutral that wheel doesn't spin absolutely freely, and there is resistence, so I checked the other side and it's similar, so I don't think there's any signs from that.
The rotor comes off fine when the park brake is released, so I'm assuming the park brake works properly.
The caliper comes off with a little effort, but nothing much, so I'm assuming it's fine too. There is rust inside the piston, but nothing exessive.
The brake pads look fine, with no abnormal wear.
The next day I took the wheel off after driving, and the rim was too hot to touch. The rotor sizzled when I spit on it! It was hot! But nothing looks suspect while hot.
The only thing I noticed, while greasing the pins, is that the small rubber boots covering the pins each have a little hole. Nothing much. But the pins had plenty of grease already applied when I removed them, and no dust or water in them.
Any ideas???
