a question about paint and priming.
Hello, i just jb welded something and i kind of want to paint it because it looks kind of strange. I was wondering how well paint goes on jb weld. Would paint or primer stick well onto jb weld?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Hey, since its a metal surface you will need to primer... And you need to sand the part we're with I say 400 grit to get a good bite for the primer to sick and make sure you wipe the part down with wax/grease remover that's all I can think of. It would help more to know what your painting
scuff the surface with a scotch brite pad. use a self etching primer on bare metal. then use a high build.
180 for shaping
400-800 for wet sanding
1000-above for buffing clear coat
it should be fine spraying over the jb. as long as there arent any bubbles in the jb. are you using an epoxy based paint or an enamel?
