Default Vitara HALL OF FAME

Well guys.
In order to create an informative thread for future Vitara piston build threads i decided to put together a "Hall of Fame" for those with Vitara piston built engines that have already Built, Dynoed and raced their setups.

This should help others to have an idea as to what to expect, what combinations other ppl are running and an estimate power figures depending on turbo used.

I hope this thread can be of big help and a good reference to be used...

Please post only results..this is not a "my build thread"

Please post the following info and ill start updating the list:

Dyno Plot:
Basic setup: (Block/Head)
Connecting rod used:
Size of turbo and PSI used:
What chassis
Track times: (if available)

I will make a Vitara Hall of Fame list by Power figures and by Track times

Thanks..

Right now im at 220hp/198tq w my vitaras on a gt25r. Will update when i put my new setup on if i decide to keep my vitaras instead of going w wiseco. The low comp is killing my power and drivability.

What engine?

Dont change pistons... change to the custom length rods...

Wisecos compression for D series is around 8.5:1

Its cheaper to switch to the custom length rods for the vitara pistons than to buy new wisecos....

Only graph I have, timing was pulled out after this run to get the extra 10hp I stated.

Can you also put the weight down next to the time so that people have a better idea of what to expect at given power/weight ratios?

I was at 2300lbs on my setup.

Please add to the list:

Dr. D-series went quicker than me last year. I believe he has the quickest ET on a Vitara build.

Vitara Z6, 75mm
436 whp 340 tq
10.45 @132mph
Weight: ~2000lbs.

Just got my 75.5's hope to be in this crowd soon..!! It's kinda shitty when searching for build info on these, everything is so sporadic.. I wish there was a baseline FAQ database to let us know what works and what doesn't... Even on TurboD16 it seems like everyone's just kinda asking everyone else questions and ****... Oh well I hope mine comes out legit haha..

Here's my setup... So far it's done a best of 12.1@112 on 14lbs.

d16a6
Decked .075
Milled .016(I had to shorten the dowel pins and oil control jet)
aerospeed adj. cam gear
z6 intake manny
62mm tb
std. bore techline coated ycp vitaras
devcon filled
eagle rods(137mm)
drilled mains
techline coated stock valves(Panda-hatch sprayed my coatings)
std manifold
bmc t3 adapter plate
t3/t04e 57trim .63ar ex
xs power 24x12x4 fmic
38mm china wg

L3 si tranny w/dx final and an obx(Mista Bone nuff said)
exedy 3 puck

walbro 255 hp with 8 guage wiring
fic p&h 550's
motorolla 2.5bar
te2.62 ng60(thanks xeno n splitime)
innovate lm1
tt coolant adapter

I'm in the middle of a chassis swap and am making some improvements along the way... The new car had a K-series in it. So I'm undoing all that mess.

Once it's all back together I'm going for 11's...

Also, the ycp's in my motor are installed with the arrows pointing at the timing belt. I now know this is the incorrect way to install them. However, they still work...
