I have a 1995 Del Sol VTEC. This past weekend I took the car out to a mountian road. I didn't abbuse the car but I had fun. Anyways, on my way home the car started vibrating really bad on acceleration. First thought was an axle? I replaced the autozone looking twigs for a new set of OEM Honda axles. The problem is still there. The mounts are okay and the wheel bearings are okay. I raised the car and noticed the inner side of the axle closest to the transaxle is wobbling. I popped the axle back out and noticed that the inner race where the axle slides into has a lot of play up and down. Here is a video of that play using my IPhone.

Even with video no responses? Okay... so I went ahead and pulled out the tranny today. The Differential bearings are most likely gone. I can rock the diff like a boat with one finger in each axle inlet.

 

pop your trans open..more than likely it's your bearings for your diff...

 

dude i just had the same prob on my b16a2, it ended up being the final drive and ring gear had broken teeth causing vibration, and a horrible rotating knocking noise, def somthing trans related

 

Yeah I'm sure it's the diff bearings. I know it's not suppose to rock like that. I'll open it up next week or so after I install a new tranny.
