The guy selling it said he talked to different mechanics and they said it shouldnt be a problem. I just need some opinions from guys here that know wassup.

ur gf? lol and what does she know is she more knowledgable then you? lol
im asking because i dont know how the cam attaches and what it attaches to so i dont know how that crack effects it. Does anyone have a pic of a head with valvecover off and where this cracked portion sits????

dont use it.. talk to skunk2brian.
Remove your distributor from the cylinder head and you will see how the notches on the cam fit on it. Mate them and move the cam left and right while holding it up againt the dizzy. After seeing how one affects the other, I think you will be able to make a decision as to whether you want to risk it or not ;-)

Shes a keeper.
I would not run that. Is it marked on the end? Even through that exceptionally blurry pic it looks like the cams are funny colored. Ours are all black.
If they do turn out to be ours give me a call at 951.808.9888 and I can help you get just the one camshaft you need to make a pair.

I agree, being broken will likely cause timing fluctuation because the distributor key isn't properly seated. Timing fluctuations could cause your idle to be off, weird power fluctuations, poor ability to tune the car and/or lead to engine failure due to too much timing. Now you could in theory have someone weld a little piece back there, however that could warp the cam....

yep - As always brian = the man with the plan he'll take care of you as long as your str8 up.
I would never run a damaged cam. I know it looks like it holds up and probably does when you mock it up but cams are built to exact measurements and perfection.
I am sorry but I can't tell from those pictures. If they ARE they are pretty heavily worn. Take a look at what is left of the distributor end of the camshafts. What etchings do you find in the end of the camshafts?
idk what COP is lol
i dont have the cams someone is selling them for $200, forget it. Unless brian wants to hoook me up with a good intake cam then im not gonna bother
