Default debating on pro1 or pro2 for 800+whp

just wondering what you guys have experienced with pro1 vs. pro2 for 800+whp.

used CTR and made mid 700s@33-34psi(155+mph traps), but looking for quicker spool time and a tad over 800whp.

Pro1s or Pro2s???

setup:
1.8L GSR on S372r

Pro1 or tuner2s, the Pro2s are just too big

^Agreed. Personally, my opinion is leaning towards the Tuner2s.

I really really like the web cams I got from tony1. With 1.25 a/r s372r the car spools faster than my 57 trim did on my b16, not to mention they are safe with my o/s valves unlike the pro1's.

Nope, its a crome moly extended radius pad with a welded surface to handle the beating even better. This is if he's referring to the pro series stuff. If he's talking about a vtec style camshaft then I don't know which he speaks of.

Haven't researched the pro1s much, but i do have a set at the shop and they seem low dura/low lift compared to CTR cams(visually). Anyone have CTR specs?

Probably just gonna put them in and compare them myself........That's the best way to find out anyhow!!! ;-)

I'll update!!!

Anything that has a radius follower you can't eye ball or measure top to bottom to figure out if it does have more duration or lift because of a lot of different factors come into play. For example one of them is the base circle. Web uses 1.125 BC on all their vtec camshafts as compared to lets say Skunk uses a 1.164. so certain profiles will look big or small on both. I can tell you tho a pro one is a lot bigger then a ctr. I've personally have degreed in a set and these wer my numbers.

int 257 @ .050 duration .494 lift
exh 255 @ .050 duration .470 lift

Hope that helps

The web's I have are a traditional vtec grind to T1 spec. It is insane how much more v2v clearance I have over the pro1, not to mention the power.

I think it depends on your setup, every head will probably be a little different. With my valvejob I couldn't degree the pro1's to where they needed to be with even the .5mm o/s valves (intake and exhaust .5mm o/s) I had to have one cam moved back significantly to get over .030 and I'd have rather been around .040.

yup i know that..... just a quick glance didn't prove much. secondary lobes can play tricks to the actual big vtec lobe making them overall cam to appear smaller. LOL!!! I'll eventually use them and see for myself. thanks for the response guys!!
