Default Another JHPUSA Rant

Horrible, horrible customer service at JHPUSA.

I placed an online order for a set of Buddy Club SF wheels (15x6.5), lug nuts, and shift ****.
I called them afterward to check when they'll be shipping them out, and they say it'll ship out in a week when the weekly Buddy Club shipment arrives.

I wait a week, and call back to check again to see if they've been shipped.
JHPUSA tells me the wheels are back ordered and will take a month to arrive.

If I had not called, I would have never known. If I give a company hundreds of dollars, I expect them to tell me if the order can't be fulfilled in the promised time frame.

I said to just cancel the wheel order, and they said OK. Nothing more. No details on when I'll be refunded, if my lugs and ***** will still ship, nothing.

They sent me the partial refund for the wheels, but the refund was short $40. Again, I had to initiate the communication and correct their mistake. No apologies were issued.

Every single person that I spoke to on the phone was unfriendly and unwilling to talk or give specifics on anything.

Interesting.

I just ordered my ASR brace and endlinks from them, and had a good experience. Price was reasonable, shipping was low, and it got here quick.

Not denying your experience at all, just wanted to add some perspective.

I've dealt with them for a good 5~6 years and I've never had a single hiccup from them. Shoot they have even gave me some free t-shirts.

No issues from JHP at all...I always use them for aftermarket parts.

Sucks that you had a bad experience, but honestly did you leave some details out of this story, because it doesn't sound *that* horrible. Maybe because I've dealt with some REALLY bad customer service over the years..it just sounds like they were too busy for you (i.e. callous).

Did you wait exactly one week and then call? In my experience I'd usually wait the given time + 1-2 days, 'just in case.' If their waiting on shipment from another company, it could honestly be out of their hands. They should have been upfront with you about this, but hey it happens and happens often with lots of companies.

Did you immediately ask about refunding when you cancelled your order? I can't remember many places that immediately brought up the refund process - unless it was a large corporation that had a person sitting behind a terminal or the like. Did you specify whether or not you wanted your lugs & ***** still?

It sucks that you had a bad experience, but honestly it sounds pretty mild compared to many relatively small shops I've dealt with.

The last time I ordered there my mind was absolutely boggled by how fast the shipping was, I ordered at like 8pm and it was at my doorstep in less than 24 hours.

in all fairness buddy club customer service is horrible. even trying to understand the guy that answers the phone in california takes a phd in communication.

the best thing you can do when ordering something like this is call ahead of time and ask if they have it in stock. if they dont ask how long it will be.

never ordered **** from jhp or any of those shops for a reason. only icb and inline four, and from members on here. haven't been burned once thank god. it's funny how they act like it's whatever that you cancel your order of wheels, shows how much they give a **** about the consumer even if it is one individual.
