Default sealing up bodywork patches.

i dunno if thats how you would describe it but im going to be doing my own body work on my car.. and my question is, when i fill in my little pin dents and and am ready to prime them.. do i use a primer sealer? and just blend it into the paint i have?.. will it will water get into the patches that i do? how do i properly maintain these dents i repair without further damaging the paint job thats there.

Ty, and i hope this makes sence.

well it all depends on whether or not u sand down past the "E- Coat". if u dont than u can just spray a sealer then a primer surfacer( filler primer ) then blend ur paint...if u do sand down to bare metal u will want to use either an acid etch or an epoxy primer to keep it from rusting.....just remember that when u clear u have to clear an entire panel...u dont want to try and blend clear.

ok, i have a few dents on my quarters and some on my fenders.. along with some on the doors, lol... so ill be doing 12 at max little patches.. i can use the epoxy primer to hold up till i paint right?... Im doing my own body work so i can afford to get it painted faster.. lol.

so... grind spot down to metal *ill be going from silver to white* add filler.. spray primer filler.. sand down flush/feather.. spray epoxy primer over.. and Good to go?

let me clear things up for you... if u do body work.. no matter what you do... if u have bare metal showing, u got to put some type of corrosion protection on it.... only on the bare metal tho...in this case that would be Epoxy primer...

on the rest of your patch area.. u only need primer surfacer first.. not sealer.... sealer is the last coat of paint u put be4 your basecoat clearcoat.
