Default Shipping my car what kind of blue tape to use?

I will ship my car and I know a lot of people use some kind of blue tape for the bumpers and the sides to protect with rock chips and what not.

What's the best blue tape out there that will not stick and damage the clear coat of the car?

3M blue paint, Any ordinary painter's blue tape? Scotch?

Any painter's tape is meant to easily remove from painted surfaces inside your house. And said surfaces are much weaker than a car's paint that's cleared over. Just don't leave it on the car for a long period of time, and you'll be okay.

since u said ur shipping your car, just go local home depot or something similar, they have this clear plastic ppl use to cover up garage walls when they paint. its cheap. this way you dont have to use 1-3 roll of tape to do your front end and side haha, just wrap the whole car and and use few peice tape to hold it down good haha

i would think the blue tape should work fine, but if you can find something with even lower tack then i'd go with that

yeah I went to Walmart today and it seems this one is the best so far. A bit pricey at $6.47 per 100/yd. But it should be ok. I might need 3-4.

I was thinking of just ordinary painter's tape, but I have had cheapo painter's tape before that sticks and left residues(not in a car paint though) when using it.

I'm more worried about the blue tape being baked in the hot sun during car transport in an open trailer for a few days. That's what I was worried about.

that is seriously hot!!

is it a 190e? hard to tell in the pics. my friends dad has one that he made a custom turbo setup for. running a few pounds of boost off a 57trim t3/t4. surprisingly it works pretty pretty good even on that weird old lambda fuel system lol. he's currently working on a custom intake manifold, installing 6 injectors, and running it with a megasquirt system.

anywho, why do you keep moving it so many miles?

Yeah it's W201 190E-16V. Yup EFI is the way to go with these cars being so old. It's called JETronic fuel system.

This benz is an 87 really old, but still works pretty good. DOHC Cosworth head, Getrag, LSD dog leg tranny. Factory body kit, carbon fiber inserts in the interior, the works. Got this bad boy for $2200 3 yrs ago and never look back.

Just work stuff man, wherever there is a good pasture. But hopefully this will be my last move.

The last time I shipped it, I didn't put any tape so it has some rock chips and nicks in the front bumper.
