Default glare on the 4th gens

When i was coming into work this moring, there was a horrible glare coming off my dash. I was wondering if there is anyone else with black interior on a 4th gen? Anything i can do about it. I try not to use too much armorall on it. ( I am bored at work).

5 more hours till happy hour TGIF.

Might wanna use a damp rag sometimes, cause if you use armorall on your dash alot, after time, it will start to crack and fade..

Yeah I know the glare you're talking about...experienced it many times

I never tried to fix it but I bet to do it you'd just need to somehow strip or coat over the glossy finish on the top part of the dash.

we use this stuff at my work. Doesn't give that glossy armor all finish, it turns out perfect.

I have a 5 G and I get the same thing. My nice shiny dash gives the most aweful glare when I drive in the sunlight. I have no idea what to do about it. The thought of having some kind of carpet cover over my dash is disgusting...

I am glad I am not the only one with this problem. Thanks for the input and keep it coming. Maybe I 'll have to try that stuff. For long roadtrips i usually use a white t-shirt and lay it flat. It looks stupid but... it helps with the glare. You can kinda of see it reflecting in the windshield but thats for for long trips only.

polarized sunglasses!!!!!!!!!! and quit using armoral. Use a damp rag or some of that spray foam cleaner. Armoral is really good to use in your tire wells....spray and let sit over night and all the dirt is gone in the morning. looks like new tire wells. give it a try.

You know that's actually a GREAT idea. If I could find a thin sheet of fabric/carpet that is the same color I'd totally do it. That glare is extremely annoying. No one would even notice the carpet, except other Prelude owners, and I bet they'd think its a good idea

I always thought that their was an OEM carpet cover for the dash. If not check out JCShitney, they actually sell some good quality nice looking carpet covers for the dash.

I used to get it really bad, but not from the dash. The 4th gen electro illuminesent gauges look really nice during the day but at night... AGHHHH!!! So I finally realized why they put dimmer switches in cars. I had never used them before now and boy does it help.

[edit] I just read that again and boy does it make me sound we tood id. Ah well.
