2-tone paint...ricey or not?
im planning on painting my 94 dx coupe. i really have always liked 2 tone jobs. i am planning on using jet gloss black on top from just below the hood line and then jeep wrangler fire rescue green(please view color before assuming what color it is) for the bottom.
im doing a two tone irregardless but i want opinions on if its considered ricey or not. i just need to know how much slack ill receive for it...lol
so what is it ricey or not?

I'd probably have to see it before passing judgement. Doesn't sound too bad.
With my cars, I usually stick with the carbon hood, trunk, possibly roof cap. Otherwise jet black on the roof / trunk / hood looks damn good too.
Just my .02.

Who cares if it looks "ricey"! It's your car man, you said that you've always wanted a two tone paint job, just do it. You have to drive it every day, you're the one who should be pleased by how the car looks. IMO, you should do carbon hood, roof and hatch. Than the rest of the car in the green.

but i honestly want to stray away from ricey...i want it clean and almost stock looking. its going to be a few months away anyway, **** ive already changed my mind on colors 3 or 4 times.

It will happen up until the day you take it to the paint booth. You're going to think of colors you would have never thought about prior to that point. haha
Good luck!

at first i was going to paint the whole car acura nsx imola orange, then i thought about del sol samba green, i thought about doing a candy red but it was cost prohibative at this point. their was more and im sure ill change my mind again. but i have ALWAYS liked the 2-tone paint jobs so i will most likely keep that aspect of the paint job. carbon fiber hood will come eventually not so sure about the trunk lid. i may just do an overlay on the trunk and roof.maybe...
I would paint the hood, roof. and trunk black so it has the solid lines of the panels to define the colors rather than just a little below the hood line, I think it would look cleaner that way. That Jeep color is cool though, it's your car man, who cares if it's ricey. I kind of go for a stock look with my car because I don't want it stolen and don't get to park in a garage.
Two tones can be nice... if done right. But honestly, everyone is old enough here... and I gotta agree with this comment:
Not only the pic but the hood scoop that leads to nowhere.
looked like **** when you owned it
here is a picture i found of a beemer that has a color very similar to what i want but with just a black hood. maybe.....
