Why are you reving your engine above 3 thousand RPM with no load?

I'm sure you can understand how hard it is to diagnose noises using text through the internet. You just have to listen and pinpoint the noise.

Not the clutch since its not doing anything when your reving the car to 3000 RPM's in nuetral. Maybe a flywheel rub.

Its probably a heat shield that has worked its way loose. Jack up your car when it is cool and check to see if any of the heat shields on the exhaust are loose. If a heat shield is loose between the exhaust and the ground you can usually just take it off, but don't park in tall grass or you may start a fire. If the heat shield is between the exhaust and the vehicles body, I wouldn't reccomend taking those off because the exhaust can heat up the fuel tank over a long drive.

It is amazing what you can think is wrong with your car when it is just a heat shield.
