Default using a tow-bar to get ur car to the track

i seen a few cars being towed to the track using a tow bar..anyone here use one? is it safe to flat tow (with all 4 wheels down) & can it cause any harm on the tranny??

i dont see how it would hurt the tranny if its gonna be in neutral when towed.

i used to tow my car that way and had no issues at all.. it was way easier faster than a tow dolly.. just make sure you dont forget to leave the key in the ignition so the steering will be unlocked.. also, one thing that i had trouble with was reversing; i don't think its possible

Dont quote me, but i think the car does have to be insured?! which isnt a problem for me since my car is still insured....

Ive used to tow with a tow bar and it was a lot of work mounting in and removing it at the track. I was told that the tow bar is not legal for use on the highways. I used to carry a copy of the cars title jic I got pulled over b/c I had no license plates on the car.

if any of the car touches the ground (at least in WV) the car has to be insured and have working lights and a plate....
