If you have have changed the wiring harness from the original, the wiring at the driver's side shock tower plug could be different, it was on mine. Repin at the connector if this is the case.

What is this reverse sensor? Sounds like something for an automatic car.

To OP: try checking for continuity, see where you lose it, then go about fixing the break in the circuit. Vague advice yes, but the concept is right.

Check fuses? My old prelude had an issue with the reverse lights not working and it kept blowing the fuse.

Not to get off track here, but that would be caused by a wire earthing out.

My reverse lights have always worked in my crx until I swapped in the B16. I've never been able to figure out why they haven't worked since the swap.

it's located on the top of the trans (d-series) or bottom of the trans (b-series), and is the ONLY thing on a manual transmission that has wires coming out of it.

the two wires that control the reverse lights gone across in the harness.do you think that in a std and a ex harness.do you think that are in different spots in the harness at the connecting point on the passanger side

This is what I found out on my 91 standard hatch, swapped in a dohc ZC with a DX harness (from 88 I think) and lost back-up lights.

Find a good wiring diagram and check the plugs to make sure.

I also found out that if I left my car in reverse I could switch it of and take out the key and the car would still be running.

i knew this already..ppl are talking like theres a reverse switch(on the trans of course) and reverse sensor..like its something different.

hmmm... id sure like to know why my reverse lights didnt work after my b16 swap. my wiring has power...new trans reverse switch..oh well. it wont pass emissions testing so it has no plates and isnt legally drivable anyways

I know this may sound dumb, but I had this problem. I took my tails out to polish them, and I didn't plug the harness back in at the back up lights. I plugged in the other parts, but left the reverse lights out. Never even knew either until I was getting new tires and the saleperson nearly backed over me.
