head gasket
so heres the deal... i bought a 92 2.3 twin cam (non vtech) prelude 2 weeks ago. now the car started to give off a burnt popcorn smell thru the air vents but only smelled inside not in the motor. the car then died, now i checked the starter and disconected the distributor and removed... but it turned out to be a fuse. the car seemed to overheat as when i got home one day the radiator was dry and oil started to leak out of the distributor. there was no tailpipe smoke and no water in the oil but now the car wont turn over... it wants to start but just dont turn over. now did i blow a head or did i mess up the distributor? if its a head gasket then i got no money to fix but i bought a new radiator and can afford a new distributor.. idk much bought these cars so need help!!!
Use a pressure tester to find where the coolant is leaking; might just be a leaking pipe instead of radiator which will be cheaper to fix. There is a little o-ring on the distributor that keeps oil from leaking out and that may need to be replaced to stop the oil leak problem. It doesn't really sound like a blown head gasket but it probably depends on how bad you overheated the car. Was it 3/4 bars over heated or 4/4 and for how long?
