What happend to the west coast.
Just wondering West coast had or still has some off the bades cars in the drag seen where are they now.. Im sure there still people out ther in the west.. Post them up..
Actually not at all Much respect for the west but just seem like their quite out there.. Where all the Honda head at.. Let keep it alive people..
From my point of view an i have been in the scene since 96 i would have to say the lack
of tracks has really had a impact on the westcoast... bring back "BROTHERHOOD RACEWAY"
or we will continue to take it to the streets!!!!

On top of that, not to start up anything but we were doing this in the 90's and it seems a lot of people got burnt out.
And no money because of the tough times, you get even less.
Another thing is that there are TONS of cars that don't get posted on here...
Not for real race cars.
Irwindale Speedway 1/8 mile Thursday nites.
- Drive is 45min-2hrs for most people on rush hour traffic. Only actually 20-40min from most major areas of SoCal.
California Speedway 1/4 mile TNT Saturdays (every 3-6 weeks depending on other track schedule)
- Drive is 30min to 2hrs from most areas of SoCal
- Gets packed and usually limited to Street Cars with Registration. Does not allow cars faster than 10sec. Maybe 2-4 runs in a 7hr racing period, not including waiting in line before the gate opens.
Bakersfield/Famoso Raceway 1/4 mile TNT Fri Nite (every 2-6 weeks depending on track schedule)
- Drive 2-4hrs from most areas of SoCal. To make it to Fri nite session, youre leaving at 1-2pm on a Friday afternoon BEFORE the traffic hits. So that means its a full day off preparation just to get there at 4pm.
That is it. Thats the choices out here. Other than the major events like IDRC/BOTI that come to Fontana and Bakersfield, its really no convenient way to go testing even if you wanted to. While there are those places, its really not easy to cut your work day short and take a day off to go testing on Thurs nite or Fri nite.
I'm not complaining, its just the fact of what is available out here. Even on a weekend, there's really limited TNT days. Suuucks.

There are several Import drag events on the west coast in 2010, expect more in 2011, especially from IFO.
IFO races include Tucson, Vegas, Seatte
I think at least 4 CMI events at Sacramento Raceway
BOTI at Fontana and Woodburn
IDRC at Fontana in June and September
That's at least 12 organized Import drag competitions. Stop complaining and just go to the events!

Sonic, the street racing i think is besides the point. I know you guys are hardcore, but the growth of the sport isnt based on that event only.
Cliff, yes I agree there is a good amt of Major events in the area and we appreciate that. We got your support on the Vegas event for sure. I think its just unfortunate on the non-event issue. We are limited on the TNT days and that is what sucks. No one wants to wait 4-6 weeks and/or drive 4-6 hours just to try out a car at a major event. That is my gripe.

im willing to travel anywhere aslong as the payouts are worth the trouble. As far as TNT i goto FAMOSO RACEWAY all the time so its no big deal but theres no major events held there.
P.S. are the crx frontends done

Im too old to race on the streets, and i could give a **** about the payouts. Were just happy to be out there racing, thanks too all that are putting on events this year. Theres plenty of races to attend this year, no more excuses guys.
I didnt know STREET RACING had a age limit but thanks for letting me know.
[QUOTE=Nerologic;42669609]It doesn't have an age limit, but sometimes people's priorities change with time...I know mine have sure changed...[/QUOTE

I just want to know where all the pro cars are from out west? AEM Pro RWD car, AEM pro FWD car, etc.
As for the video above I will only say this. I would rather race for "chump change" then go to some half a**ed drag race on the street and watch my car spin into 4th gear on slicks because it is on some road with no traction compound. Your motors must love rev limiter out there.

I love the sport but I personally got burnt out and grew out of it. To much time and money put in the car and not enough places locally to TNT with the budget I was on. Like Nerologic said...peoples priorities change and now I have more time to spend with my family now.
By the way...my car is up for sale in the FS section. Thanks
