So you were just born knowing how to build topmount manifolds? I'm assuming you also were born knowing how to weld too... He asked a question. The answer is search the forum. Building manifolds is not ****ing rocket science. Any retard can do it and make it functional.
OP the way you asked the question is just begging for you to get your *** ripped. Search the forum. There are multiple threads on every single aspect of building manifolds in here along with tons of pictures. Have fun.

most likely, someone competent in welding SS pipe wouldnt have to be asking on how to build something. know what I mean?

yeah I know exactly what you mean. You are relying soley on your assumptions though. I find doing that gets me into trouble sometimes. Im not afraid to ask people more experianced than I how to build something I've never built. Even though I possess the skills to get it done regardless, asking questions usually saves me some time and headache.
If you really think about it his question isnt all that stupid. The only stupid part was that the answer(s) are littered all over this forum. hence my response.

its unfortunate that H-T is littered with so many dumb responses. i find when ever i try to find an answer to a question i have, all i find for answers are "try searching" or smart *** responses that take longer to post than the actual answer itself.
to the OP, i originally asked that question years ago and only got a few legit answers..
so i had to do it the hard way, learn myself threw trial and error, but practice first, buy a lot of 1.5" PVC pipe to practice making the merge collector, i even still use it mock up manifolds.. its real cheap..
and a real help is to check out all the build threads right here..
good luck

ill bite by saying that i start every manifold out by bracing the turbo where it will be mounted with some sort of bracket .I then bolt the collector to the manifold with the flange tacked in place and start tacking runners one by one. look at pics on the internet and find something you think will work for your application and start tacking.
you will need:
head flange
turbo flange
waste gate flange
about 26-28 weld el's
and a small legnth of straight pipe
also a collector
good luck
