Default How to loop heater hose?

Hi everyone,

I plan to delete my heater in my car by looping the heater core hose n block off some inlet/outlet for my engine(SOHC), I have seen some DIY's forum on how to loop/bypass the heater core hoses, but i cant retrieve it. Can anyone help me on this.? much appreciated.

YOu can block it off no problem. When the adjuster is set to full cold in the cabin then it is essentially blocked off anyways so no harm in cutting the hose and hose clamping a bolt into it.

So, you want to get rid of it because you don't use it? I'd keep it. It's good to have in case you DO need it, it maintains resale value and it's a good backup heat exchanger in the event your vehicle begins to overheat.

or i just block the hole on my head, n thermostat housing.? incase i sell it, i can still connect it back, for heater inside the dash, i jus leave it,
How does the "a good backup heat exchanger in the event your vehicle begins to overheat" works?

u turn on ur heater and it releases heat form the engine coolant in the event of the engine overheating. if ur not hot Just dont turn the heat on, whats so hard about that. I mean u save no weight, and its not like u need a belt to drive it and plus more coolant in the system will keep it cooler.

Are you trying to block the heater off because it's always on and blowing hot air at you? I don't understand why you want to get rid of it.

than look in the engine bay to the right of ur battery next to the charcoal canister (round black tube cylinder thingy with 3 hoses coming out of it) and ul c a cable running into ur firewall. the cable will b attached to this black valve that has two heater hoses runing into it. have someone adjust the hot to cold in the cab so ul know which way is cold in the engine bay, then just push it all the way to the cold side inside the engine bay. Be careful that cable and valve are kind of delicate and break easily so just dont use to much force

no, cause alot of my local ppl did that, if u ever come to my country, then u will know the weather, we don need heater at all, our weather is enough to warm the car , my local mechanic told me that it will be fast for the air cond to cold up if i block the hot coolant to flow into the heater below my dash. Is it true?

The heater valve will block the coolant flow through the heater core. You don't need to disconnect the heater for that. I don't think eliminating the heater core is necessary.

Also, you might want to find another mechanic.

^^^^Dude, You are such a hack!^^^^

OP Dont ever do this to your car.

That would almost be the equivelant of using duct tape.
