Default identify these "mystery cams"? with new pics

anyone know what kind of cams these are?

These pics are of the distributor side. There are no letters or numbers just these four lines.

and here are the pics of the shafts. these two places are the only spots I see any markings? I added pics of the porting and valves just for fun

what should I look at to tell what kind of cams they are then? I thought if you looked at each end you could tell what it is? (but I don't know ***** about honda's really)

just wondering where I should take pics of because I think most cams dont have anything written/stamped on the main shaft of the cam?

here is another pics without my drawing to show the lines i'm talking about. its blurry but maybe helpful I hope. You can faintly see the 4 lines that go out from the middle to the outside edge.

The markings you are looking for are typically etched in to the shaft themselves. The only way to find out is to pull them out. I don't think there is a way to identify the cams by the markings on the distributer end.

oh ok, guess I was incorrect then. I'll try to pull them out this this weekend or next. If anyone can magically tell what cams they are from these markings though that would be killer!

Not to imply anything or implicate anyone, but I hope this wasn't a stolen engine from a hard working indivdual. Buying a modified "unknown" motor from someone who didn't know "about hondas" seems rather suspect. I don't mean at all to be rude or harsh to you, but assuming you're an ethical person, doing this "deal" didn't raise an eyebrow to you about its origin? People don't just give those up without parting them out, or selling them to someone who knows about the engine.

I'm sorry to bring this up, but the IL and MI has been a cesspool of stolen activity. I myself and several others will not ethically take part in helping one with an engine that may possibly have a stolen origin..

Again, I'm not saying you're that person, but perhaps the people you bought it from..

I wouldn't run stolen stuff if it was given to me.

guy I bought it from is a friend of my sisters, his parents are rich and buy him whatever he wants. The guy bought a car with this b20vtec in it and couldn't smog the car to sell it because in CA you can't BAR a civic with a b20 and smog is always on the seller. so he had it taken out last year and then sold the car with a stock motor later so was just selling the motor because it was sitting in his back yard forever. he drives a range rover now and is over his honda "phase".

hear what you are saying and would never buy something if I thought it was stolen for any price. I've had plenty of cars and motorcycles of my own stolen and agree 100% with you. It's not like I'm really strapped for money, so I'm not trying to pinch pennies, this was just a good/interesting deal that fell in my lap and couldn't agree with you more, if I thought it was stolen for one second I would never have bought it.

I'll try to take pics of the cams and get that valve cover off this weekend. Really curious what cams these are since the bottom end obviously cost some real money.

so I pulled the cams and am trying to get the pics off my phone, basically though there are no markings on the cams other than a big "2" on one side of the shaft between the lobes and a "X" on the other side. The lines I took a picture of above and the "2" and the "X" are all that are on these.

The head does look to have flat faced valves too. I'll try to upload some pics of the porting as well. Also looks like someone balanced the bottom end by grinding some material off some of the rods but not others. Looks like a pretty solid motor put together by someone who knew what they were doing but I'm just guessing.

after more research it appears that at least the one with the X on it is Blox HSL cam which would have these specs. the specs are pretty damn aggressive and sound like hell for the valvetrain, now trying to decide if it's worth it to buy some "better" cams than these....

HSL (High Speed Lift) VTEC Camshafts
Intake (lift/duration) 0.496" / 255º
Exhaust (lift/duration) 0.494" / 256º
