As we speak, I'm walking through the vast expansion of Honda and acura parts that is my garage. Those who have followed ExtraBlackRex's 88 Crx build bore witness to me put together a b20/vtec animal from spare parts i had lying around. Well I'm at it again, this time its an ls/vtec.

I'm going to take pics, but I consider this part 2 to myp other thread cuz this is The motor that's gonna replace the zc in my crx. So I found an ls bottom end, I had it laying around after i used some parts off it to do the b20. Lo and behold I also found a spare set of Ctr pistons, a b16 head, a gsr head some blox stage 2 camshafts and dual valve springs ..pictures will be in once I yank everything out into the open, but which set up do u think would yield better numbers?

I was thinking..

Ls bottom end
Ctr pistons
Gsr head
Blox stage 2 camshafts
Dual Valve springs

But the compression would have me uncomfortable, doesnt ctr pistons bump cr to roughly 12:1? And a gsr head would raise it more right? Or could i just rock a thicker head gasket and skate by?

you'll be rocking close to 14:1 cr. assuming the pistons you're talking about are pct pistons from a jdm b16b (idk i have almost 0 experience with b series parts)

 

usdm Integra type r pistons should leave you at 12:1 and jdm integra R pistons should leave you at 12.5:1.
