I realize the headlights are different in the 90-91 and that allows you to use the cleaner (no screw type) corner lenses. The front bumper is different, will a 90-91 bumper bolt right up to a 88-89?

What about the taillights are different in the 90-91 verses 88-89?

Any other changes? Did 90-91 have power windows/mirrors?

I'm purchasing a 89 model and would like to change the parts to make it look cleaner like the 90-91 models. Thanks.

all i can think of right now is, the front bumber, the corners (not sure if you can conver those though), the taillights, im pretty sure that all but there could be more stuff

 

1. the gauge cluster is different along with the cover above it.
2. 90-91 also has thinner side moldings.
3. rear disk brakes.

 

seats have different fabric..
painted mirrors on 91's
upgraded side impact door beams and door mounted seat belts..
different wheels

 

door mounted seatbelts on 89-91

rear disk only on si

 

slightly hotter cam in the 90-91...

don't bother wasting your time.. that's just me.. but i sometimes can't even notice the difference..

spend the money one a GOOD suspension setup and header/intake/exhaust...

 

yes all those parts will interchange except the corner lights..... and no, the only car with power windows was the 90-91 Sedan EX has that .. not on HB.....

89 ownz..if you're that concerned about it get jdm stuff.

 

The 89-91 have identical cams. 89+ have fuzzy gloveboxes, visors. different guage clusters. 90-91 have bigger clutches. 89-91 may have more aggressive computers too.

 

painted side mirriors? mine arnt painted and also 3 other friend with crx's. oh well big deal.

 

Geez, sounds like the CRXs got a lot better in 90-91 compared to the 88-89.. What's the weight difference from 88-89 to 90-91? Thanks.

Also, is it me, or do the 88 CRX taillights look "fatter" ? Like thicker than the 89+

I wouldn't say CRX's got "better." Maybe more modern, but hardly better. The 88 still has the best rear suspension, and the 88-89 are significantly lighter.

youd be better off buying a 90-91. just my opinion. my 90 si hatch doesnt have rear discs.

 

hatches didnt get the rear disc only crx....my 90 crx has power windows but they are aftermarket power windows kit which is super sweet....my 1990 Crx has painted side mirrors, pillar mounted seatbelts, 89 dash cluster, rear disc, 90 front headlights, and there are more but I can't remember....my point is not every 90 got the upgraded stuph

 

i have a 90 crx...i personally like the older look better...however the 90-91 si seatrs look alot better IMO

 

my buddy has a 89 si crx...with door belts

 

89 had both, depending on the manufacture date

I dont realy want to see this discution come up again....

 

btw, the corner lights have NOTHING AT ALL to do with the headlights.. it's the FENDER, the way the mount to the FENDER.

i still say don't waste your money.. the only thing that gives it away is the front bumper.. check this picture:

other than that, i cant really notice much of a difference, im guessing the red ones the 90-91 though cause it looks slightly newer

the yellow one is Lt. Dan's, 1989 Si..

not big enough for us to tell..

yeah, it's got a gray ZC hood.. OEM JDM metal, too.. not some carbon fiber copy...

 

turn signals, taillights, bumper,rims, some interior
