Default Black car

Do painted plastics look different compared to the metal parts on a car?

As in...i have a black coupe and i was looking at it from the side with the sun behind me and the rear bumper looked a bit odd, it looked more like a brown. Is that cause the sun was setting and it was making it look a different colour?

The bumper was resprayed approx 2months ago, but it didnt look odd then, but the weather hasnt been very good until now,

yeah plastics always tend to have a slight color variance no matter what you do. sometimes its so un-noticeable that u cant tell. and sometimes it sticks out like a sore thumb. the plastic absorbs and reflects the light differently then metal does.

also the fact that your bumper was resprayed and not blended into the car (it typically isnt however) that could cause a slight variance.

Cool, thanks for the reply.

It really did my head in before, i spent the whole day polishin/waxin to step back and notice that, i wasnt a happy chap!!
Im putting it down to the sun being so low it created that colour difference, all day it looked fine, ghey.

Cheers anyway, il have to put up with it n hide my car when the sun starts goin down! Lol

if the correct primer is used on plastic parts, it will not vary like that.
