i have a 1991 crx si i want to put an eg half size radiator in it i have full race traction bars and a jdm front end would i have a fitment issue? or do i still have to lean the radiator? thanks in advance

 

my buddy has a etd traction bar and a eg rad was still too tall.. and i believe it wouldnt sit on the mounts correctly.

 

Ill be of some aid, I have a mishimoto 92-00 civic dual core rad w/ K-tuned traction bars & rad brackets, I used this Innovative mounts 88-91 w 92 civic radiator bracket. Had to drill a hole onto the front T-bar and used the stock 92 civic bushing. And yes you might have fitment issues if you want it to sit straight like this. I had to cut a square off the top of my hood in order for it to clear the radiator cap and mount. I dont have a jdm front end, but I have a carbon fiber ZC hump hood.

 

If you can afford it, get the Full-Race EF half size radiator. You won't have any fitment issues.

My eg radiator fit fine with the etd bar but I did fab my own mounts.

 

just drill holes in the traction bar for the rad to sit in.

 

u can get cx racing halfsize rad and edt traction bar like i had in my rex. it fits PERFECT!!!!

 

I was considering these. But can you mount an aluminum fan shrouds onto those??

No, not really. I guess you could fab some up and weld it to the radiator, but there are no provisions on the radiator to mount any kind of shrouds.

 

No that's not a very good idea. You're over thinking it.


You can buy the etd radiator mounts for $60 but first check the diameter of the fullrace bar. If the etd mounts don't fit just copy the ones off the link below with parts sourced from home depot. It isn't hard at all. I think I spent $25 in parts and an afternoon. GL

yeah thats the only bad thing about those. But It is still possible to do that, I have a fan shroud on my '92 mishi rad, thats the only thing thats good about those compared to the full race

 

I made an aluminum shroud for my Full-Race radiator and mounted an SPAL 11" puller fan to it. I previously had a generic/Autozone slim fan and although it worked decent for some time, it started overheating at the track on a hot day after the burnout. The new combination works much better and I haven't had overheating issues since then.

 

How did you make a fan shroud for those. Yeah same here I used an Generic ebay/Autozone slim fan and it overheated on me downtown :/ then it just stoped working in general..so I got the mishimoto fan shroud works great now
