twin disc clutch
we have 800 hp vw golf with cm ceramic plates,but we take out the
trans to check and find the disc are burn a little bit,what are you guys
using,are you think the iron version better for me,let me know and why

The cintered iron is def the better way to go as far as holding up. If you want to do it right get yourself a carbon unit, you can contact spec and they will make something for you if they dont have an off the shelf unit.

We've tried to get a carbon/carbon Spec unit for Joel's car. They told us there is not room in the VW bellhousing to accomodate the additional thickness of the carbon plates. Hopefully something can be worked-out, but I think it's going to take a custom flywheel so that the whole clutch assembly can be moved towards the crankshaft. For now, I'd use the sintered iron if you have it Jan.

We have two VW twins that have a shorter stack height and use the thin discs. These two are the 5 speed 1.8T and the 5 speed VR6. We are currently looking into changing the step on the flywheel to adjust for either the regular twin discs or the carbon setup. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
