hi - I had two rear axles replaced on my front wheel drive Honda CRV and there is vibration happening now when I accelerate. The Honda service tech thinks that they may be faulty axles. What are the chances that they put axles on fro a 4WD vehicle - and if so what kind of damage has this potentially caused?

 

either im reading something wrong here or you have absolutly no idea what you own.

it's a front wheel drive vehicle and the rear axles were replaced. now there is a problem after they were replaced. could the shop have put the wrong axles on which is now causing the problem? do all wheel drive axles fit on a front wheel drive car? The service manager even said "oh, I didn't realize that this was a front wheel drive car when I was looking at it"

 

if its a front wheel drive it dont have rear alxes, if its 4 wheel drive it has rear axles

 

that's interesting - the Honda dealer said that they are replacing the rear axles!!!

 

You seem to be a little confused sir.

To the point. if your mechanic doesnt know the difference... find a new mechanic.

If the vibrating is coming from the rear of the drivetrain then your probably out of balance on something.
